White House & GSA Officially Unveil America.gov AI Federal Portal
The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) and the White House National Design Studio (NDS) launched America.gov on September 29, 2026, creating a unified AI-powered "front door" for federal public services.
Key Administrative Changes
- Single Gateway: Aggregates information and services across ~29,000 federal government websites into one conversational interface.
- Mandatory Login.gov Integration: Presidential Executive Order mandates all federal agencies integrate public-facing services and authenticate through Login.gov.
- Dual-Engine Architecture: System is designed by the National Design Studio (led by Chief Design Officer Joe Gebbia) and powered by advanced AI models.
- Roadmap for 2027: Planned rollout of direct digital passport renewals (in coordination with State Dept), Medicare enrollment, and federal job applications.
